PANEER AND DRYFRUIT MODAK

Since whole wheat are low in fat and high in fibre, they have been linked to reduce weight, the risks of stroke, type 2 diabetes, certain cancers and other health problems..

Almonds and walnuts helps to Lower LDL Cholesterol and reduces risk of heart disease, Protection against Diabetes, Good for heart, Improves Blood fats, Lowers risk of weight gain, Rich in Protein.

Paneer not only is a good source of protein, but also a good source of calcium, necessary for strong bones and teeth.

 

INGREDIENTS:

For the covering:

1 cup whole wheat flour

1tsp oil

Luke warm water as required

For filling:

½ cup crumpled paneer

2 tbsp sugarfree

2 tbsp finely chopped walnut and almond mixture

1/2 tsp cardamom powder

5-7 saffron (kesar) strands

 

METHOD:

  1. Heat oil till slightly warm and add to the wheat flour. Rub it nicely such that the oil is well incorporated in the flour.
  2. Add luke warm water and form a stiff dough (Like puri dough). Keep it aside covered with a wet cloth for half an hour.
  3. Take paneer in a bowl. Add sugarfree, walnut and almond mixture, cardamom powder and kesar strands. Mix well.
  4. Take a small ball of the dough and press between your palms. Now using your fingers shape them well.
  5. Place the filling in the center. Fold the dough with fingers to enclose the filling with the covering and give the shape of a fig.
  6. Steam them for 10-12 minutes. When they are done, the covering turns translucent and shiny. Allow it to cool slightly and then serve.
