RAKSHABANDHAN AND DIABETES MANAGEMENT

Raksha Bandhan, or simply Rakhi is a Hindu festival, celebrated in many parts of the Indian subcontinent.  Raksha bandhan means “bond of protection”. The festival celebrates the love and duty between brothers and sisters. Enjoy this chocolate recipe on the day of Rakshabandhan without any guilt.

CHOCOLATE PINWHEELS

Cocoa powder is a good substitute for high calorie chocolate sauce in these attractive pinwheels. Enjoy this scrumptious snack occasionally to satisfy your sweet tooth. Remember not to go overboard (2-3 pinwheels / day).

INGREDIENTS  

For the chocolate Spread                     Othre Ingredients

1/2 tbsp Low Fat Butter                2 Slices Of Whole Wheat Bread

1 tasp cocoa powder                        2 Tsp Ots

2 1/2 tsp Low Fat Millk

1/2 tsp Sugar Substitute

METHOD:
For the chocolate spread

  1. Heat the butter in a deep non-stick pan, add the cocoa powder. Mix well and cook on a medium flame for 1 minute, while stirring continuously.
  2. Add the milk and mix well and cook on a medium flame for another 3 to 4 minutes, while stirring continuously. Turn off the gas and add sugar substitute.

Transfer it into a small bowl and keep aside

How to proceed

  1. Remove the crust from the bread slices.
  2. Flatten each slice using a rolling pin.
  3. Spread 2 tsp of chocolate spread on each bread slice and sprinkle 1 tsp of oats evenly over it.
  4. Roll each slice like a swiss roll and cut it into 3 equal portions. Serve immediately.
